Justin James is back on his imprint, refused., with a fresh new offering to complete the 2018 calendar year. 'Impolite Imperative' is a playful, yet dark and powerful walk somewhere between the wonky worlds of stripped down minimal techno and some deviated and warped brand of house. James' trademark pumping rhythms, odd vocals, and spacey atmosphere are succinctly combined with a load of more funky and odd elements to create a unique piece of dance music. Not only is the track in comparison to Justin's lengthy body of work but also in comparison to what is being offered in the electronic dance music market at this time.
Accompanying the original mix, Justin has also added a DJ tool featuring the vocals and the blips, blops, and glitches. We hope you enjoy this as much as us and we look forward to sharing lots more music with you in 2019.
Pairing wonky synths with crisp samples, the California-born, Berlin-based producer specializes in minimal house with a carefree spirit.
